About me
I have always been active from team sports at school, to running, cycling, yoga, Pilates and the gym as an adult.
After graduating from Manchester University, I worked in the recruitment industry in the UK and in Sydney. After I had my second child, I traded that in for a flexible, part time job managing a large tennis and squash club locally. However, there was always a feeling of wanting to do something that was more impactful on people’s lives. Experiencing cancer within my family in 2015 was the catalyst for change and I made the decision to direct my passion for exercise and fitness into a career to help those affected by cancer or chronic conditions.
I live in the countryside on the Buckinghamshire/Hertfordshire borders with my husband, two teenagers, our naughty Irish Terrier and a handful of chickens!
From 2021 -23 I worked on the SafeFit research trial designed to support anyone in the UK with suspicion of or confirmed diagnosis of cancer (safefit.nhs.uk – Welcome to SafeFit) and I am a Physical Activity Referral Specialist with Active In The Community working on the Move Together Buckinghamshire Project. This is a free programme designed to help residents aged 50 and over, who are living with a long-term health condition, to be more active and improve their physical and mental wellbeing (Referral Pathway - Active In The Community)
